the Modesty Survey

“How tight is too tight for tops? Are jeans with holes in the thighs immodest? Is a purse worn with the strap diagonally across the chest a stumbling block? Are shirts with messages across the front distracting?”

Join other Christian young men and women in TheRebelution.com’s new and exciting project: The Modesty Survey. The Modesty Survey allows any girl to submit anonymous, modesty-related questions to Christian guys and to receive (multiple) anonymous replies. It’s the discussion you’ve always wanted to have.

Yes, I’m back
October 23rd, 2006Filed in: Other

Well, I just got in 5 minutes (read: 7 days) ago. I’ll give you a quick summary of our trip and we’ll be right back to regular programming, starting tomorrow.

We left home 5:30 am on Friday, and got back 10 days later at 12:00 am on Sunday. God blessed me so much on this trip. From the wedding in Tennessee to the family camp in Indiana, God used many people to touch my life and convict me, as well as to strengthen and encourage me. I’m looking forwards to sharing some of the lessons God has taught me over the coming weeks.

The family camp meeting was the best and I hope to be interviewing a few of the speakers right here on Oneway Purpose. Stay tuned!

The next best was the wedding. And then of course, spending time together as a family, driving. See! (I rarely sit in the back, but when I do, my little sisters love it. Sometimes to the chagrin of the rest of my wanting-to-be-sleeping family.)

Calendar

I’d like to apologize for the un-notified impromptu vacation from blogging. The past few weeks have been very busy and time has slipped by faster than I’d like to realize. This post is to let you all know that Oneway Purpose will return to regular programming on Saturday, August 12th.

After that date you can expect posts coming with a much higher frequency. But in the meantime, please go ahead and read through the Archives.

Sincerely,
Me

Noticed this in the Toronto Star:

I was having a rough day at school and was feeling distraught.

As I came to the entrance of one of the buildings a guy was holding the door open for his friends, but as soon as I got there he let go. I must have looked quite forlorn because a fellow coming out the other doors quickly offered to hold it for me.

It was really just something silly, but he made my day brighter. Thanks all you chivalrous fellows for treating us girls like ladies!

Wow, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that in the newspaper.

Remember guys. Somebody might notice.

Angered at my Existence
April 16th, 2006Filed in: Other

It’s not often we get the chance to have people verbally regret our existence. And it’s less common that they have the same name as we do. Now with me, with there only being 3 or 4 David Boskovic’s in the world to my knowledge, it’s even less common.

But the fact is, David Boskovic is not at all happy that I’m here. I discovered his post yesterday from a link to my site. I could not conscientously give you the link to his post to read. So can I just suffice it by asking you all if you would pray for the other David Boskovic that our Savior would reach down and touch his heart?

Thanks guys.

While you Wait…

I found this quote from Mark Twain somewhat surprising.

Many public-school children seem to know only two dates—1492 and 4th of July; and as a rule they don’t know what happened on either occasion.

This is not a jab to public-schoolers really, I know HSrs who probably are in the same boat. But nevertheless, Samuel Langhorn Clements said it himself, he’d probably pull his hair out now.

btw, did you know Mark Twain’s real name? Now you do.

Oh my.

I have a lot I want to blog about, but I’ll need to find time. Here’s what I have cooking, let’s hope I get a couple posts up soon!

  • Calvinism Part 4

  • The Wrong People are Homeschooling! (this one might go into ROC)

  • Old Prescriptions Don’t Work

  • Is a Young Earth a Fact? (that is if you’d like to debate me James)

  • And a couple other things…

Between school, work, family projects, and personal projects, blogging took a sideline this week. Expect something besides the Calvinism debates next week!

Top 80

I know this is pitiful. But I just slipped under the top 80 line for the religion category in Blog Top Sites. Thanks for all the hits everybody!

Welcome to the new Oneway Purpose!
As I’m sure you have already noted Oneway Purpose has an entirely new face. After a few hours of work on design, coding, and tweaking, it is ready. Admittedly there may be a few loose nuts and bolts still, but I’m working on that. If you notice anything wrong, let me know. If you have any suggestions that will help in the blogging world, I’m very interested.

I didn’t have as much time as I hoped for in the last week to do some writing, but I have a couple posts to make right now, as soon as I can detach a few minutes from the clock.

PLEASE NOTE: The link to Oneway Purpose is now www.onewaypurpose.com. Although the previous link is still operational, I’d like to ask all of you who are linking here if you’d be so kind as to change your links. Thanks!

Regenerate Our Culture
As you may see in the featured bar on the index page is a link to Regenerate Our Culture. It’s a brand new site coming out in just a little more than two weeks. I’ll have more to say on it in another post shortly. I do imagine that there has been a lot more ‘generation’ recently than ‘regeneration’, but I know that we are going to be seeing a terrific site that will be encouraging in both areas.

See you later,
David B.
