Chivalry
Noticed this in the Toronto Star:
I was having a rough day at school and was feeling distraught. As I came to the entrance of one of the buildings a guy was holding the door open for his friends, but as soon as I got there he let go. I must have looked quite forlorn because a fellow coming out the other doors quickly offered to hold it for me.
It was really just something silly, but he made my day brighter. Thanks all you chivalrous fellows for treating us girls like ladies!
Wow, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that in the newspaper.
Remember guys. Somebody might notice.

Great reminder, David
Girls truly do love it when guys hold the door open for them. It gives them, er us, the feeling of…uh, girliness!
Yes, that is a good reminder. Thanks.
It is always nice to be reminded that, even if it isn’t noticed or any recognition is given, just a small act of chivalry could make someone’s day. Thank you for posting this.
I was with a group of girls and we were discussing chivalry. Several of the girls mentioned how it definitely did make their day when guys took the time to open the doors for them. Its evidence that chivalry isn’t completely gone off the planet. My little sister then piped up with her unique point of view,”Ooooh. Well then should those automatic doors at the store be called ‘Automatic men?’”
:)
Great reminder David!
Thanks for sharing that quote, Hannah. : )
And David, thanks for posting this. Guess it means I’m not the only girl out there who notices—and greatly appreciates—these things.
It’s true! We do notice…and we appreciate it! Thanks for giving a great reminder, David! I know we ladies admire it when we see it! =)
I’ll echo the others—thanks for posting this! I know when my brothers hold doors for me it makes me feel extra special, and I in turn look for ways that I might encourage and bless them. I think girls like to be treated as girls!
Yes, we girls really do appreciate it. In fact, whenever a man happens to hold open a door for me, I make sure that I offer an emphatic, “Thank you!” in return. It never hurts to encourage admirable actions, right?
