Huzzah! Wow, I like the look. You made this all by yourself? This is some pretty good skill. I’ve always wanted to make my own template; I have front page 2005, but haven’t attempted to figure it out yet. Maybe in the summer when I get bored and have more time.

Thanks Emily, yes, I’ve done quite a bit of design actually. It comes with practice, and the right software.
You need a good graphic design program that you can learn with. (although they’re usually pretty expensive, you can actually find used copies of most everything pretty cheap) I’d recommend Adobe Photoshop, or Corel Photopaint. I used Corel Photopaint solely for this design. (for the images and such that is)
For the actual layout. I’d advise you taking the w3schools.com tutorials on html and css, then you’re fired to go.
Then you can fight out all the crossbrowser problems, I haven’t finished that with this design yet. IE still has a prob with it in some areas.
The best thing to do, is when you get a design idea, sketch it out on a piece of paper, change what you think and then use your photodesign software to draw it out just like you want to see it. Once you got it all like you want it. Start figuring out how to put it into html, and how to templatify it. It’s actually pretty simple once you’ve done it for a couple years.
One thing, web/graphic design is so unboring, you might get addicted to it!
neato…then maybe you can give me some pointers on how to a.)set up a feed reader, b.)subscribe to my favorite feeds, c.) sydicate my feed, and d.) change my header picture

a) You need a feed reader like mozilla thunderbird, or you use a site like bloglines.com. Then you just subscribe to the feed url for each blog.
b) There is usually a link on each blog to the feed for that blog. Some browsers will automatically detect feeds and show a little rss feed icon which you can click on for the link.
c) The link for your feed is http://unconformed.blogspot.com/atom.xml it’s already syndicated with your blog, all you should do is put a link in your sidebar to it so that people can subscribe easier.
d) You need to download the image http://www.blogblog.com/rounders4/bg_hdr_bot.jpg and edit it or change it to the header youd like to use. You’ll need to re-upload it somewhere, if you don’t have a place, I host stuff for my friends, so just drop me a line. Then you need to go into your template. Scroll down until you see:

background:#476 url(“http://www.blogblog.com/rounders4/bg_hdr_bot.jpg”) no-repeat left bottom;
and change the url there to the new image. Tada! Done.
